Here we go. '95 Talon TSI AWD Auto. I had my tranny rebuild by a reputable professional. After installation, I am having trouble with a leak apparently from the input shaft. I goes away after the car is put into gear. It does this on every start up, whether cold or warm and sits and pumps bright red tranny fluid out around the torque converter until I put it into gear the first time. After that it doesn't seem to leak until I shut it down. Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks

Did the shop that rebuilt your trans replace the seals ? Did they give you any kind of warranty ? when rebuilding an automatic transmission you replace the seals, meaning either they did and did it wrong, or they didn't replace it all together. I would take it back and have them fix it.

take it back to the shop and have them look at it. If they actually did do everything they said they did, it shouldnt be hard for them to figure out your leak

Problem Solved... When they installed the input shaft seal, they drove it all the way back in the housing. Leaving too little clearance for the sealing surface on the torque converter shaft. Thanks for your help guys.
