getting knock should I retard the timing

Okay finally got the car running and every day a new problem I want to take the car to the track tonight but still getting knock at higher rpm's. I wan't to run 20 -25 psi on 91 octane. I have 880 injectors, so fuel shouldn't be the problem I have a log of my last run. I hit what feels like fuel cut at under 5000 rpm's. My tima drops to 4 even 0 or -#. I'm new to datalogging and not quiet sure what i'm missing

I'm just running a cheaper fpr off of ebay @ 47psi. what is too high of tima for a 2.3 stroker I read some where that 15 is about max for a 2.0 but a stroker can run higher is that true?
 
Is 25 psi of boost shooting too high on pump gas even with 880 injectors? Has anyone else ran that high of boost on pump gas?
 
Someone correct me here if I'm wrong, but I believe your running to high timing initally. Your probably getting some high egts, Do you have some sort of timing control?
Your timing curve is probably off for your setup and then you get some knock.
 
so what would be a safe amount of tima for a 2.3 stroker? Is it really different then the 2.0?
 
Were the cams degree'd? or the just set on a guess?

I was not able to run over 20-21 psi on 93 pump on my 9:1 evo 3 engine without significant knock. I had to run meth to get 26 psi which is where I am at now.



As far as timing goes, I would run anything lower than 15-16 degrees in the higher RPM range. One reason is anything lower and you are just not making any more power, and the other reason is the more retarded timing you run the higher your EGT's, higher knock etc etc. It gets all bad there.
 
so is -5 bad or good then. I show that on my datalogger for tima. I only hit 10 on knock.

I'm new to logging so sorry for stupid questions
 
I Run 25 psi on 720 injectors on 93 octane i have a full throttle fpr tho and i don't get much knock at all higher rpms. have you tuned the car yourself or have you had a professional do it cause i know nothing but basics about fuel trim and datalogging so when i run into a serious problem like that i take it to the shop 300 bucks is a lot cheaper than a new engine imo.

also what ecu system you using?
 
I'm running a ecu from 91 (was told it was a 90) with a dsm chip set for the mods I have.

Another question I have is how much does throttle position sensor effect tima? My sensor is bad it only reads .3 or .7 but .7 most of the time. Nothing else so thinking that might be part of the problem?
 
Sorry forgot to mention that closest shop is about 400 miles away to take it to nothing close to me that I would trust with my car.
