boost cutting out

just finished putting the car back together about 2 weeks ago, whenever we hit boost it feels like it cuts out and hits a brick wall at about 5K. We had the mbc and it was boosting 9.3 b y the time it hit 5k, put the stock bcs on and now its hitting 14.1 but still does the same thing around 5k. took a video to help figure out what the problem is. it has a few mods, fmic w/ maft setup, 16g.

Boost leak test?
Check spark plugs/gap?

I assume you have all the MAFT settings right.

When my plug gaps were off it stuttered real bad at the higher rpms. Thought it was fuel cut myself but as soon as I fixed the gap problem all was better. Might be your problem.

Did you properly gap the new spark plugs to .028"? Yes, they come pregapped, but you shouldn't always trust that.

Also, can you describe where you performed a boost leak test (turbo and/or throttle body) as well as how.

I definitely don't think its your spark plugs, because its only doing that at 5k rpm. Is your timing done right? Try leaving the wastegate wide open and see if it does any difference! Is your computer the stock one? Check your fuel pump, and your injectors. Make sure your injectors are sitting down tight. Thats all i can think off right now.

its funny that you say that because we've been talking about getting a new timing belt kit off of streettunedmotorsports because we thought it looked kinda loose. it definitely has some play up and down. also what would leaving the wastegate open do?

I would be carefull with the timing belt because if there is play, it might slip and through your timing off and mess up your head.

Compressor surge shouldn't be an issue. I would check all of the MAF-T settings to make sure all are okay. Also, do you have any fuel system mods (injectors, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump)? Your profile doesn't say.

all the maft settings are 0'd out. and the mode is all on off. no fuel mods as of right now. could it be a clogged fuel system causing the car to not get enough fuel?

Hmmm... well, the MAF-T should be set to your injector size...I'm not sure what the stock 450's go as far as the MAF-T setting... But, fuel cut is not your problem since you've got the MAF-T. I would try to consult the MAF-T Forums. Here is a link to the forums for the company that makes the MAF-T---> Full Throttle Tech Try to find the right settings for your setup. Post back with any findings.

i already talked to a member on here regarding the maf-t settings...and we should start out with everything at 0 with the amount of mods on the car as of right now.

I was just wondering if the knob that deals with the injector size is correct. I'm not sure what stockers are supposed to be. If my car wasn't immobile at my apartment 40 mins away, I would give a quick look.

Same person? I'm confused? If so, I would consult Full Throttle themselves. I had a problem with my MAF-T and got a quick fix from talking to Full Throttle.
