well me and my friend put the car back together after it had been sitting their for 2 years. we put in a new motor with about 3k miles on it, a new act 2600 6 puck with a race disk. mounted the stock trans that has about 100k on it which has a new tob. we got the car up and running but at first we couldnt get the car to go into gear. after trying a few things we figured it out by just adjusting the clutch pedal. we finally got it registered today and took it out to a friends shop that specializes in evo's/dsm's and let him drive it to check on some minor issues that we were having. it still has trouble going into gear sometimes as if im forcing it to go in, and when you put it into first gear the car seems to be wanting to move forward without letting go of the clutch. it also feels like its catching way to close to the floor. he asked us how if we used the whole "heman" push the trans up onto the clutch as it lays on ## chest way which we did. he told us the way we did it is the worst possible way of putting a trans on. he said that he has seen this problem before and said that it could possibly be that we either pinched the disk or even broke it? does this sound like something that could have happened?

Sounds more like a combination of a weak slave cylinder, stock rubber clutch line, and a worn pivot ball and clutch fork. One quick bandaid is to shim the pivot ball with a couple of washers. The proper way would be to replace the obviously worn or dated parts and try again from there.

well i guess were planning on just ripping the whole car apart again and just start fresh so ill just go ahead and check all these things while im doing this. could the stock clutchline really cause that big of a problem though?

It caused an very inconsistent clutch pedal when I installed my 2600 years ago. I replaced the line with braided and it cured the problem. I currently have a brand new Shep stage 3 in the car with all new clutch related parts and the 2600 still works flawlessly. I have yet to have to shim a pivot ball when using new, unworn parts and a braided line.

I am also guessing that your tranny buddy has little to no experience with 1g awd tranny installation either. Whether you bench them or try to use a high dollar trans jack, they still go in rough as hell. There is no avoiding it with the angles you have to get the tranny to get it in.

well i also forgot to mention that when we were putting the trans onto the clutch it was kinda being held up by the disk itself because we couldnt get it in right. so at times the trans was being supported by the clutch itself.
