I recently did a auto to manual swap on my 91 awd talon. It starts up and everything but during acceleration it starts to choke real bad and will not stay steady. When i unplug the MAF the car seems to be fine. So i replaced the MAF..still the same problem. It has a new fuel filter, plugs, wires, coil, computer...still nothing seems to fix the problem. Also none of my guages are working but the illumination is..someone PLEASE HELP!!!!

Check the vacuum/boost hose to the fuel pressure regulator - if that is leaking your fuel pressure won't go up when you are under boost and it will just feel like it is taking a crap everytime you try to get on it.

Boost leak test, and get a nice set of some ngks @ .028", perhaps your wires could use a replacing too.

problem is now solved..boost leak at intercooler piping..would like to know some ideas for keeping the piping together under boost..everytime i spool up and go to switch gears the pipes just blow off:talon:

I've heard of hairspray working, otherwise just get some T-bolt clamps, not too expensive and provide a hella lot more torque then worm drives. Plus you can reuse them with out them going to crap on you.

Otherwise bead your piping, you can do it with a welder, or a round piece of metal and a hammer.
