Boost Leak

Have a 98 gst, did boost leak test at 20psi, found leak at bov, replaced it with new one, and still whistles when boosting. Did boost leak test and still can't find any leaks what so ever.Anyone know what the whistling may be? Car has a big 16g upgrade.

When you do the test take a spray bottle of soapy water and spray it around ALL possible places that air could leak out from. The place that has the leak will make the water start to bubble, its very easy and much less stressful.

Ya I did that earlier today,leak was at the bov,replaced it,was ok for first 2 pulls, then after that started whistling during boost again..wondering if there's something else that could make that sound possibly, nothing i can think of if its not a boost leak.

You nor your profile listed a BOV upgrade. Does that mean your running the plastic stock 2g one?

Was, switched to 1g stock bov

These are symptoms that I believe lead to whistling.

-boost leak
-crack in manifold and/or turbine housing
-turbo that is near the end of its life

turbo is brand new 16g,exhaust manifold is brand new ported manifold,did another boost leak test today and no leaks except for at 1 and 2 injectors, seals are bad, but it shouldn't whistle, at 20psi it only was barely leaking, and im not running 20psi so it shouldn't be that. Also sounds like a leak on back side of throttle body, but still shouldn't be the cuplrit for the whistling.Any other ideas anybody?

When i first put on my greddy BOV it made this whistle you describe, just loosened it and it was gone.

I have just a stock one on, what would I loosen?

1g stock,so its the metal one

Your 1g bov is either uncrushed or crushed. Crushing it would allow you to hold more boost and might stop a whistle if thats the culprit. Although, 1g bovs don't usually leak.
