2g gst auto wont downshift or overdrive help..

97 gst auto just installed buit 7bolt car was fine right before engine change and now when I put the trans back in it it wont down shift or go into overdrive.. I can manually put the car in 2nd but thats it doesnt slip or anything thats just all it'll do I cant figure it out it shifts thru p r n 3 2 1 shifter linkage is fine I connected everything i could fine and checked it twice im stumped... please need help rsolving this asap, I have a fresh engine I dont want to tear up my car its my only mode of transpo...

ok i've read everything I could find and the best I can come up with is limp mode onthe tcu caused by phantom knock since my downpipe is hitting a bracket.. could this be it? guys I really need some advice asap..

If the harness was pulled up and out of the way then I'd suggest making sure
that the plugs are in the right sockets. There are a couple that plug in perfectly in the
wrong spot. I forget which ones though sorry. Double check the connections-

im stupmed its not phantom knock I took the bracket off and its the same... I dont know which plugs switch out...

plugs are correct, I can manually shift it to 2nd but thats it, it takes off in 3rd..limp mode... reverse 3rd neutral and park no overdrive.. cruise is working what can I do?...
