Ok so im having some problems with starting my car. It only occurs sometimes though. The other day it was running fine and i turned it off to run into kmart quick and when i came out no start. I work right down the road from kmart literally in the same parking lot at a radio shack so i just walked to work and figured i try it later and mess around with on my break and see if i can figure anything out. So about 5 or 6 hours later i go out and it starts up right away so i drive it down to work and finish my shift and it starts later when i leave. So today i drove to school and work then after work i went to meet my girlfriend at her job and come out and bam car wont start again. I let it sit there for a couple hours thinking maybe it would start again like last time but no luck this time. So I decided to try popping my clutch and it started so i drove it home and here i sit wondering what the culprit could be. My clutch is definitely on its way out and is really starting to slip now and then. Is it possible the clutch could prevent the car from starting? If it wasn't engaging fully? Or could it be my starter? When it wont start and i turn the key it doesn't crank or anything and sometimes i can hear a slight clicking noise but nothing happens. Any ideas would be helpfully. Thanks Guys

Starter could be on its way out; mine refused to crank out of the blue, but all of the electrical checked out. Our service manager used to work for Mitsubishi, so he suggested that I tap the starter a few times. Sure enough, the car cranked over. Give it a try when it acts up on you and see if it helps.

Of course I could kind of feel that my starter was dying, it cranked really slow even with a fully charged battery. The second I replaced it, I got my normal cranking speed back as well as the reliability.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I found the problem turns out I just had a loose connection to the starter. I cleaned up the wires and reconnected and its been working great ever since :thumb: thanks for the input!
