I recently pulled and reinstalled motor for clutch, timing belt, and head work. The only bug I have to work out is an audible clicking coming thru air filter. I traced it back to what I believe is the EVAP Purge control solenoid on the firewall behind intake. It didn't start until motor warmed up after first start up. Now it could happen anytime. It seems to me that the solenoid is constantly opening and closing. None of the threads I have found have pointed to this solenoid. All they talk about is lifter tick, injector tick, and removing all emissions. I doubled checked the vacumn lines to EVAP canister, they are hooked up correctly. Removing emissions is a last resort due to Maryland's testing. I don't have any warning lights coming on and there is no noticeable affect on performance.
