Hey guys... I changed my Left rear wheel bearing cartridge the other day on my 96GS. Well I put it all back together
and now I have this issue of the rotor rubbing the brake dust cover ONLY in right turn. Any kind of left turn. The smallest
load on the left side to the car (turning load) the rotor makes a pretty loud scrapping sound.

So I took the rotor off again and I can see any contact patch area on the rotor??? The rubbing sounds like its
coming from the lower back side of the rotor....

Is there that much flex when the car turns? Did the rotors move?

Could it be that my new hub and bearing is too short and is defective?

The dust shield moved when I took everything apart the first time... but I put it back together it all went back
like it should. Are the tolerances that small between the Shield and the rotor?

Has any one run into this before? Thanks in advance.

The same thing happend to me on my right side. I was driving and there was this huge rock on the road that came out of a dump truck that was driving infront of me. I try to dodge it with no success. It tore my rear left tire and f@cked my front left rim. Anyways, the impact of the rock on the rear left side, seemed to move or slightly bend my dust shield. Everytime I would make a left turn, the disk or rotor would rub on it. Untill I decided to do my brakes and straighten my dust shield back. It seems that yes the tolerances are kinda small. What I did, I took both wheels off from my car. That way I could compare the dust shields and match the left side to the right side. Angle, distance between rotor and shield, etc. Problem solved.

LOL, No problem man. Yes it is very embarrasing. I completely agree with you. LOL. I hopw this helps you.
