LOLI am new with DSM's and i can figure these car out for nothing but as the title says im hitting fuel cut in a 1g Laser rs running stock boost, and not sure if there is boost leaks and only hits fuel cut in 3rd, and 4th, the car is bone stock, injector clips are VERY LOOSE,and i can pull them off with my finger the fuel filter got replaced about 3 1/2 months ago, and i am throwing a check engine light, but the weird thing is when i get on the car the check engine turns on and off and i have another question will the coolant temp sensor be one of the problems for the car not starting in the cold cause i dont have on i bought the car without one, because i have to put starter fuild to start the car in the cold and more than half the time i start it and it stays on for about 30 seconds and shuts off and it start in the warm for 5 seconds and shuts off and it starts right back up

Fuel cut

Could it be bad timing?
The check engine light?
Boost leak?
Injector clips , fuel pump etc?

Cold start

The coolant temp sensor?
Not enough gas going into the engine?
Boost leak?

Noises

the car make a werid noise when it turns over
i think it might be the starter

That mainly it, and i could really use advise

Thanks, Helman LOL

Go get the CEL read. It will probaly tell you something important. Yes the coolant temp sensor will make it hard to cold start. When it is cold out your car runs rich. If you are too rich you will not get an easy start. I would defidently inspect for boost leaks. That can promote fuel cut. Do you have a boost gauge?? You might be running more boost then you think. I would check that. I was running 18 pounds on my t25 with the free mod thing you do with the stock boost control/bleeder. I was hitting fuel cut stock so check that out.

not to be dumb but CEL is the check engine light right? and in the cold its not getting enough gas,
no i dont have a boost gauge and i think im running stock boost cause i have no boost controller

it's called a pause... or a period (.)

1. checking codes

http://www.vfaq.com/mods/wayback/BradBauer/electrical/code.html

2. get/make a boost leak tester.

2G Turbo DSM Boost Leaks -How to test and fix

3. if you think it's cut, rewire the fuel pump. (or get a fuel pressure tester and I think 41PSI is the goal)

Rewire Fuel Pump

4. with regards to the injector clips, go to the local u-pull it junkyard and get some. the injectors will fall off on you if you don't. I used to have that problem. i highly doubt it's the cause of your fuel cut, but they can't stay like that anyway.

5. with regards to ECT sensor, in other cars it won't allow it to start (i've had that with an old VW fox i used to own) especially in the cold weather when it's not able to compensate with added fuel. i've never heard of it doing it with DSMs but it's entirely possible.

6.timing information is here too:

Engine Timing

without a boost controller, yes you're running stock boost (11 PSI I think)

my advice.

1. use periods.
2. check coolant temp sensor
3. fix injector clips
4. boost leak test.
5. get back at us if it's still not working.
