Did any 1g come with factory alarms

For some reason my car always wants to lock and unlock itself randomly. Like when I go to get out of the car, I unlock the car, then it locks itself immediately and I have to fight with it to get out of the car. Kinda annoying sometimes.:(

Oh yeah. The question is. How to I disarm this thing. Is there a fuse to pull, or something.

I searched and seemed to find that these did not come with factory alarms. Weird the problem I am having really seems like it has a factory alarm... OR a gremlin in the ECU.

My 91 Talon TSI definitely has an alarm of some sort. No keyless entry or remote, but the alarm will sound the horn and flash the lights if a locked door is unlocked and opened without the key. No idea if it's factory, but Alldata does mention something about an anti-theft system.

They did come with alarms. I don't know of there were any yearly changes, but I'm pretty sure the alarm system did not control any of the locks or have keyless entry. Mine sure doesn't. The system should arm itself if you turn the door key to the lock position for a second or so. A green alarm light on the dash will illuminate. This will give you the flashy light loud noise theft deterent.

I would think you are having an issue with door lock actuators/sensors or something in that system and not the factory alarm, though I'm woefully ignorant on how everything is controlled. Does it happen in just the drivers side door or both? I've heard of door sensors going bad and causing all sorts of mischief. Used to cause all kinds of problems in the maxima world.

Your are right some did come with a factory security system but it does not control the locks. If your car is locking and unlocking it must have some type of after market alarm on it. The only reason I know this is because I spent two years working at a local automotive company that installed alarms and keyless entry systems. I had to spend two weeks in training. We were taught how to bypass them and what cars came with what alarm systems.

The 1Gs did have a passive alarm system available that locks/arms the doors when the D/S door is locked via key. Do you have a green "security" light that illuminates on the dash if you lock your D/S door with the key from the outside?

It's possible that your Theft Control ECU is fried or one of the door solunoids is bad and sending an intermittant signal to the ECU.

Per the FSM:

The car doors are When a door is locked by the lock knob or the key, the door lock . ?",,
actuator switch is switched OFF, and HIGH-level signals are sent '- -'
to the ECU. These signals active the timer circuit of the ECU,
there by causing the activation circuit to function, thus activating
the door lock actuator of all doors
