First of all, thank you all for the heating issue. Guess I overanalysed it.

Here comes a new problem that happen just last night:

Snowed here yesterday morning/previous night. Talon is GREAT in snow (ahh the beauty of AWD)

Two things happen last night (I only mention one in case it may be related).

Passenger side headlight dies. High beam works fine, but the low (which was JUST replaced, used rubber gloves to change, IE every precaution could think of) went out.

Also ABS light comes on. Car suddenly has almost no braking power (pedal stiff) and pulls hard to the left when braking only. . Now the pull and braking power loss are gone. So likely two unrelated issues and the other is the relay... now to find said relay. Drives fine still.

Battery was dead this morning (not completely dead, but would not turn over). Read the other ABS posts about Relay going bad, so will check that (Also going to checker to get codes pulled...I hope). Fuse for ABS is fine.

Fluid level looks nominal. But car is essentially not safely driveable at this point...

Help? Yes searched forums, use ABS as string, read a few interesting things. But couldnt find one that had the pull issue and the lack of power....

Vaccuum? gahhhh..... :beatentodeath:

BTW Took to brakes plus to have code pulled...costs 65 bucks and was a two hour wait. No thank you....

Update*: Caliper on right side front is locked. That was the pull effect. Took off the wheel, can't even turn the disk more than a CM or so. PArt of this post os me tryign to organise my thoughts as things happen. I noticed that when i opened the brake fluid resovoir (sp) it was down about 1/2"-1" and there were...bubbles under the mesh.

Bought some brake fluid, filled up the resovoir, going to bleed the right brake when my partner gets off work to see if maybe there is air in it. Would air cause it to lock up?

Haven't found the relay yet. Could not bleed brakes . Opened up the bleed valve did a bleeding.... nothing. Nada zip zilch. Pressed hard on the pedal... goes down MAYBE An inch. Will not go farther, even with two feet pressing on it hard. When we opened the Brake Resovoir and looked in while the engine was on, and pressing the pedal, nothing. No activity.

A friend suggested that part of my "near stalling" when braking on the road was a vaccum leak. I am trying to find where that is.

*pulls out his hair*

What relay are you referring to? There is no ABS relay. ABS codes are read this way: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...-reading-2g-abs-diagnostic-trouble-codes.html. Did you fix/replace the stuck caliper before trying to bleed brakes?

ACutally... i sacrificed my "new" laptop (a Dell d810 i was going to switch to from my T42) and bartered a repair. wasn't the caliper at all. Turns out the relays on the ABS pump was stuck on, hence the battery drain (something noted in a ocuple posts here). Problem is, relays are 395 from Dodge, and 185 from Mitsu, so in the bater, guy is going to get me a complete ABS pump unit from a same year Eclipse.

Screwed.

Jerk never fixed the car. Same issue. teaches me to GIve the laptop before the issue is fixed.

I replaced the Relays, BTW (the Valve and Motor ones). Didn't fix it. So....guess it isn't them.

Since i Cut the thread off a little early by bartering the help...any suggestions?

I couldn't get the point to ground. Tried it several times *feels like an idiot*.

Put a CL ad offering to but a 6 pack of beer if someone had an ODB2 ABS code puller and pulled the code. Got no replies (except for one offering to buy the car, but NO)

however, when we pulled the fuse on the ABS....The brakes work fine.

So it isn't the two Relays, it isn't a brake line...

*shrugs*

ABS pump itself i thought, except we found the battery was bad, which is why it wasn't holding a charge (If Checker is to be beleived) and no constant whirring.

Ok Removed the ABS fuse. Brakes work like a charm (sans ABS of course) so its something... that isn't the two relays I replaced.

For now leaving it like that.
