I was recently doing new rotors and pads all around on my car and ran into a little problem. Just got done and went for a small drive around the block and I noticed when I brake there is a scraping type of sound coming from the rears. I'm not sure if I should proceed with the bedding procedure and hope it goes away or not since this seems like it could be a potential problem. I've only driven the car maybe 50 feet so im not sure just how serious it is...

I should also note that the passenger side rear caliper piston was seized and so we were unable to swap in the new pads. As a temporary fix so I could still drive the car we put the old pads back in with the new rotors for the rears. Not sure if that's related but it's worth mentioning :coy:

Also wound up having to tighten the E-brake afterwards as for some reason after we were done it was no longer working much(would come up ALL the way and barely keep the car from rolling). So that might also have something to do with it too.

What do you guys suggest?

And yes I know the rear caliper will need to be changed, but it's not something I feel like doing on my own and that's why we put the car back together the way we did. Now I can drive it somewhere and have them swap out the rear calipers with some new ones. I just wasn't sure if that would cause the scraping i'm getting or not.

Not sure if this is relevant but they are SP Performance slotted rotors.

Get the rear calipers changed out before trying to figure out if it is something else.

Did you do the brake job yourself? If you can replace rotors and pads, you can replace calipers too.

As far as driving to the shop, how far is it and how little braking do you think you can do?

Yes. The rear calipers kind of scare me because of the E-brake components and the such, otherwise I would have done so when I had everything apart :shhh:

Maybe 10 miles. It's all one road, but there's about 10 stoplights between me and them.
