I just ran over something wrapped in a plastic bag on the highway at 65 mph which hit the bottom of my car somewhere in the back. I have a little over a 1/4 tank of gas and my guage goes between half-full and empty all the time. The dummy light for "empty tank" does not come on. I took a quick look underneath the car and i didn't see nor smell any fuel. I will jack it up when I get home and inspect everything. What should I look for? As far as I know the fuel sender is part of the fuel pump assembly and all the wires go under the back seat, so I'm not sure how it could have been damaged from the outside.
