My mechanic just replaced my master cylinder for the 2nd time because it keeps on breaking. After he installed it I noticed that the clutch pedal was a lot stiffer. As the car warms up in the winter the clutch pedal gets stiffer and stiffer. But I've noticed that I have to press it down really hard to start the car, when it's that stiff.

When I am in gear and I try to speed up I notice that the car starts to rev up really high as if my clutch is slipping and I can smell it. The car now has 100,000 but I replaced the clutch at 65k miles. I was never hard on it, and I thought I would get a lot more millage out of it?

I've noticed that it only happens when I've been driving for a while and the clutch pedal has become quite stiff

That's normal. With my old clutch, ACT 6 puck UNSPRUNG, the clutch would engage and feel really light in the morning when the car is cold and as the car warms up to normal operating temperature, it would get hard and or stiffer. But, another thing I noticed from adjusting my MC push rod is that at a certain point in the push rod, I don't remember if the rod was in or more out, is that it will stay a constant pedal feel and engagement point rather than going soft to stiff.

Hopefully that helped.
