Ok , ever since ive had my DSM about 6 months now ( ive had 3 now total ) its ALWAYS got 200miles a tank of gas and then it hits gaslight. no matter what , if i drive it easy and all highway miles for the week , i get 200miles to the tank.

Go out racing for the night , about 6 runs , and drive it in town that week, i still get 200miles to the tank..... kinda weird. no matter how i drive it or how much i get on it , i still always get 200 miles per a tank. when in reality , racing it should make me get alot less.

so no matter how i drive it , its always 200 per tank so weird. recently ive tried to remedy the problem. my past DSM's always got around 300miles per tank. so recently in an effort to get my gas mileage back ( i moved farther from my job ) ive replaced a few things.

Replaced :

New NGK plugs gapped to .28
New spark plug wires
New 02 sensor ( verified it works correctly )
Ran 1/2 a bottle of sea foam through the gas tank , and other through vaccum.
SAFC tuned w/ wideband by a local DSM shop ( on the low end from 2000 rpms and on its at -35% maybe something there why i need to pull so much fuel ? )

i have a very very tiny boost leak in my TB shaft seals.

The car had always got 200miles to the tank even when it was STOCK !

sometimes i smell a faint smell of fuel , and in the summertime when its hot i smell it more. maybe a leak somewhere or a seal ? every fuel line ive checked in the enginebay is not leaking.

any ideas guys ???

my current mods are :

SSAC Fmic kit
1G BOV ( recirc'd)
Intake
non- hacked MAF
Boost controller @ 16psi
SAFC
3" back exhaust

I just bought a logger the other day in hopes of finding something , but havent got it to work yet.....

thanks in advance.

My current mods are 31x12x3 fmic, greddy type s bov, 17psi boost, 255fp, cat back exhaust, safc and I am getting 260 miles out of my car. I once had a fuel smell coming my engine bay and I found that it was coming from my fuel filter. I would check the top and bottom connection.

I have the same problem with my 1G. When I first got it, it was doing 17MPG; this was with the crappy stock exhaust and dirty air filter. After all of my mods (DSMLink, 880s, Walbro 255, etc) it still gets 17MPG. I don't get the fuel smell though, but I suspect I might be getting more rolling resistance than I'd like. Wheel bearings could be a cause I suppose, as well as possibly sticking calipers, etc.

forgot to mention that my tire pressure is at the correct setting.

i ran a 1/2 can of seafoam through my car again the other day , and 1/2 in the gas tank again.....

and PLENTY of highway miles. no racing or getting on it and STILL got around 200miles and hit gas light...... im going to replace the fuel filter this weekend, and try adjusting the timing and see what happends. i averaged it to 15-16 MPG after i filled up today. i gotta find what costing me my milage and soon since i just moved farther from work. i think i also found a tiny tiny leak from my exhaust manifold.
