Well i had a problem with my charging system one day where my battery light came on and my car eventually died. I looked at the alternator fuse it was corroded, however, it wasnt an open line when i tested it with the multimeter, so i replaced the alternator from autozone. Well i changed the alternator and..... it didnt fix anything i drove down the road a ways and the battery light came back on so i turned around and decided to wait and get another fuse on monday. As i was at college ( about an hour away) i asked my dad to pick up the fuse from the dealer and replace it, well he did and he drove it around for an entire day and it was fine. Well anxious to get my car back i headed home to pick up my car, on the way back it ran perfectly having adjusted to fuel pressure it ran better then perfect. The next morning i start driving to class and as i pull into campus the battery light comes back on and i blow another fuse. Now i am an hour away from home and i tried replacing the fuse twice and both times the battery terminal would spark putting it back on and the fuse would blow. My guess is that there is a short somewhere along the wire so my question is what do you think i should do? I cant really work on my car as i have to means to jack the car up or anything and i think my lease allows you to work on your car in the parkinglot either. Do i have it towed to a garage and have them run new wires to and from the alternator? Or is the pos alternator
i got from alternator malfunctioning? Help! I need to get to class eventually!
p.s. sorry for the long post i needed to vent... haha
