so my car was heating up very quickly so i pulled over and no water in the system and white smoke coming out the exhaust. a blown HG i know for sure. so as i baby in home, stopping occasionally to add water, BOOM i start filing all the lanes of traffic with smoke. black and white. it was a pretty spectacular display of a smoke screen haha. so here is the gasket.
do you think i could have caused any damage to my motor. the head is at the machine shop right now getting the goods done to it but i'm just worried about the low end.

p.s. my car never stopped running just ran like crap due to the compression leaks

Great job! you did it right, that's for sure :)

I doubt your block is harmed, but lay a perfect steel straight edge layed across it at all different angles, and use feeler guages to check for any warpage.

yeah i showed that head gasket who was boss LOL. yeah i sent the head out and he said it was still pretty flat, i'm doing valve stem seals, valves and a resurface anyway. getting the block all measured up tomorrow and hopefully be able to clean it up and lay the new(ish) head on this weekend.

HaHa thats looks familiar!! Mine did that exact same thing once between #1 and #2 cylinder! Never stopped running either. Just ran like crap.

You can end up damaging pistons and rings from overheating. Also, if you have coolant in your oil bearings in the engine and turbo can be trashed.
