Well i have a 92 laser awd, mods are 2.5 exhaust w/o cat, manual boost controller, 255 fuel pump, free mods and thats it. Ive tried planning with the boost controler and it will always stay the same when wide open in first at 10 psi and in second onece i get into higher rpms it will slowly go from 10 to 14 and the same in third. i was just wondering what you guys might think it is. and by the way its stock 14b turbo.
Thanks

Um what kind of BC is it? Was it installed correctly/professionally/backyard project?

thanks for the replys, the boost controller was on the car when i got it, it says type 850 regulator made by Control air INC, one of the vacuum lines hook up to the waste gate and the other hooks up right before the turbo from the pipe coming from the side mount. sorry I'm a newb to turboed cars but not cars in general, if you guys want i can have pics up tomorrow of the controller and were it hooks up. Thanks very6 much for the quick replys.

Ok no problem pics would be nice. In the mean time you could read the manual IF you have it if not find it online. Please do a Boost Leak test asap to. Good luck keep us posted hope this helps even a little.

its pretty similar to that except for the bottom or the opposite side of the nob, but the nob is very similar. so let me guess there crap, would this be any better

I would look into getting a proper ball/spring mbc. Even though the one you have (according to the website I posted) is meant for pressurized systems, it is not meant for automotive applications, but for air compressor applications. You should get one that is meant for cars that way you know it is built correctly for the application. They are cheap (as you stated about the one you posted) and work perfectly fine. I don't have any experience with the one you questioned about, but it should do the job. Either that or go on eBay and you can find some really cheap ones there.

But yes, pictures of it and how it is hooked up would be greatly appreciated!

o yeah i forgot to post that before class i switched the lines around it it was the exact same and didn't see any differences in the way it boosted or anything. So should i just go buy my friends and try it out or could the problem be something else.
Thanks

Make your own for $10

you can buy things from grainger without an account. At least I could.

or buy your friends for $20 when you can get them for $14 shipped from ebay.

The one you have should work I think. However if you check out the spec sheet, if you have an e type, you're not going to get anything out of it, and if you have a D type, you're not going to have any adjust ability.

I like the G-valves the best personally. Easy, and if you need more boost you just put in another spring.

You can also make a simple bleed style boost controller with a simple twist valve from home depot. They don't aide spool up, but they do work.

\/ \/ snowboarder is right. http://www.cheresources.com/questions/process_control-319.html it's not going to work at all. You need a pop off style valve. My bad.

I just think that it's not the right part for the application. It doesn't seem like it'd work as a mbc. I'd say pick up your friends and try that out (make sure it's hooked up right).

Most boost controllers are not car specific i would go whit what tkelly27 sayd make your own for ten i made one a while ago and worked great..
