1g 5 speed tranny not working well

ok when i am driving and downshifting into first i will have the clutch all the way in and sometimes it will grind the gear. also when im in park and try to put it into reverse it will grind. and then u have to put it in first and then reverse for it to work. the clutch dose not slip at all though. but it has to be all the way in to shift. any help will do.

Youre in park? Since you have a 5 speed, you mean just not moving right?

Try adjusting your clutch rod. But it sounds like your 1st gear synchro may be going out. On a DSM, who woulda thought?

yeah ill go to put it in first and i have to slam it into gear. how much are the 1st gear synchro and why dose it do it for reverse. and its really hard to get it in 4th. and where do u get the part? thanks
