Ok so, I recently bought a 90 Eagle Talon TSi. The body has 200k miles on it but the engine, trans, and turbo all have around 30,000 and are all about 1 1/2 years old. All the work on the car was done at Stage 6 Motorsports in Jacksonville, FL. The guy I bought the car from had all the receipts so I know its legit. The car has 2g pistons and 1g rods in the bottom end and as to my knowledge hasnt seen over 22 psi from the AGP RS49 turbo. Since I've had the car it hasn't seen over 15 psi.

The problem I'm having is blue smoke and sometimes white smoke (a lot) after the car reaches about 180 degrees. It only does it some times though, certain days it will smoke like a freight train and some days it barely does. It doesnt smoke under WOT, but smokes at partial throttle and at idle. It doesnt smoke when I first start it up so I doubt it is the valves but this problem didn't start until I changed the oil about 2 weeks ago. I put 5w-30 Royal Purple in it.. I'm not sure what was run in it before. My oil pressure gauge is reading fine, the engine is running fine, and so far the oil level hasn't dropped at all. I was thinking it was either the exhaust side seal on the turbo, I have a fried piston ring(s), or maybe the head gasket has popped. I did a compression test last night and it was 140-150 across the board. I haven't beaten on the car since I've had it but who really knows about the previous owner. I've pretty much ruled out the turbo seals due to the white smoke, but I could have more than one problem.

I'm open to suggestions so anyone with an opinion feel free to chime in. Thanks!

Sounds like you may have a PCV problem and/or you have excessive ring blow by that the PCV system cannot evacuate. Does you car have a functioning PCV valve and valve cover vent hose? :dsm:

It has the PCV valve and the vent, however neither are under vaccum. I have a new PCV valve but I havent put it on yet.

Pull one of your intercooler lines and check to see if it has oil in it. If so, possibly bad seals in the turbo

I pulled the charge pipes before and after the intercooler and there is no oil in either. I've never experienced just the exhaust side seal going out on the turbo, but I suppose its possible. Between work and school I still havent had time to pull my o2 housing off to check for oil there, but I guess that will be my next step.
