I have looked for hours and I cannot find the exact same problem that I am having. There are many that are similar but none that have the same problem that I can find. I have a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi AWD with walboro 255 pump and AFPR if that matters at all.

So the situation is that I rebuilt my engine last week and just got it started. I replaced all of the gaskets, all the parts that are recommended with the change of a timing belt, and the timing belt. Now the car starts up fine but unless you keep on the accelerator it will stall. It sounds very rough around idle speed but once you get it up above 1.5k rpms it will sound great. When the MAF is unplugged it idles fine until you rev it a little bit and it is slow to rev. The spark is great, plugs gapped, timing is on, and the maf worked fine before the rebuild. I have no idea what it could be. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
It sounds to me like you have a timing issue, but i am not sure why the MAF is affecting the performance. Just double check the timing marks on everything becuse this plauged my friends car for 2 months before i looked at it to fix it.
 
I had sort of the same problem. Do you have an afc, if so bypass it and see what it does. I done this and come to find out my mas went bad on me. It was sending the wrong signals to the ecu and the afc was trying ot make them work. If you have someone near by that would let you try there mas i would do that.
 
Thanks guys. No I do not have an afc and my timing is dead-on. I suppose my MAF could be bad but I don't know how to test it. does anybody know or have any kind of helpful hints?
 
No leaks. I did a boost leak test and also don't hear any. My AFPR has a guage on it and it is set at 40 but slowly loses pressure as the pedal is pressed more.
 
I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM!! ahh its driving me crazy.... i just had my engine reuilt the timing is pefect ive done it a couple times before and... its the same. Below 1500 rpm it runs like crap and stalls out alot but above that it runs perfect. HELP US PLEASE!
 
Does anybody have any other ideas of what it might be? the timing is right, there are no leaks.... I just dont know.:beatentodeath:
 
7 bolt. I put a 50 trim turbo on it and replaced all of the gaskets, water pump, timing belt, tensioner, pullys and all of the recomended parts to replace when changing a timing belt, new oil feed and return line for the turbo, and that is it. I did not change any sensors or swap any other parts. I also just tested the ISC and TPS and they are both fine.
 
I do. it reads 21 vac when it is trying to idle but in neutral when I rev it it goes to 0
