i just got this 95 Gs- t (5-speed)...i test drove the car it ran fine, the guy told me he had just put in a brand new Hydraulic clutch, timing belt etc..he says he has never had a problem with the motor at all....so i came back the next day and did the hard left turn test, clutch felt fine, let the car idle for about 15 min, didn't over heat....the car had 1 owner and a clean title according to carfax....oddo said 107k miles....car was running strong no noises nothing at all.... so i bought the car and drove it down the highway like 10 miles got stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for around 10 min....after this all hell broke loose...i hit the gas and the Rpms keep going almost to 7k but the car doesnt wanna go...i mean it goes but when it hits 40mps Rpms spike....if you were driving next to me you'd think i had the clutch in and was just reving the motor....
so i took the car back up to his shop (50mps all the way) and he had his mechanic adjust the clutch and the car was a champ again..

and then like, 2 hours ago i was at a light in neutral, and the car just straight up refused to go into gear, but when i turned it off it went into gear fine, so i turned it off put it in first then turned it on and got off the road....i noticed the reving things happening again.... no ticking motor idles fine no noises, i have talked to afew people and they all say it cannot be the "C" word...that its all in the clutch....frankly if anyone knows whats happening i really need the help

definitely the clutch....can't say it's not the C-word considering sounds like sometimes its acting like the clutch is engaged and others disengaged. If I was you, I'd take it back to the guy and ask for your money back. If he told you all was good, well, its sorta effed up that he gave it to you like that. Do you guys have a lemon law there in TX?

thx for the fast replies, no clue what lemon law is...but i did talk to him and he said he would have the clutch taken out inspected and fixed out of his pocket....i'm pretty sure its the fly wheel....and an adjustment problem..also he pretty much guaranteed that its not walking...he said if it is he would find me a solid 6-bolt and swap it, again out of his own pocket...hell i kinda hope it walking now.....so yea pretty sure its not walking.

Sweet...Good luck man.

BTW - Lemon Law basically means if you get a jacked up car, you can take it back. I think it usually has to do with how many times in certain time period you have to get it worked on or something.

^^^ thax alot to everyone who replyed, Zemfro was right the clutch was adjusted wrong, but i got it redone and have not had the problem all day....it had no free play before.
