I've discussed what is happening with my car with everyone in my area in the DSM community and we're all stumped at this one...please please please read through and offer any advice!

Car is falling on its face during partial throttle acceleration intermittently. Feels like fuel cut or a misfire. If you baby it and keep the throttle under about 40-50% it drives fine...maybe a lil sluggish but overall good. If you go WOT its fine most of the time but every once in awhile it hesitates and if you try to give it some moderate acceleration (50-70% throttle) it halts pretty hard most of the time. All of the stuttering occurs in the mid to high rpm range 4k-8k rpm. Also it happens very frequently if I try a hard shift 1-2 or 2-3, bogging horribly as soon as I get back into the throttle toward the end of the shift which is also at 50-70% throttle. The weird thing is I can put it in 5th and pretty much do anything (light, mid and WOT) and it doesn't miss while turning 17psi.

Any ideas?

So far here is ### I have done:
Compression- 160 accross the board
New BPR7ES
Replaced Power Transistor
Adjusted TPS (planning to replace)
No Boost Leaks
No Exhaust leaks
Good Fuel Pressure at idle (don't know at boost)
Ground timing is good.

I had a situation like this happen before after I drove through a hurricane and somehow my TPS was malfunctioning, wondering if this may be the case again since I drove through s bad rain squall just before this started happening...but I don't have an extra TPS and Mitsu wants almost $200.

Also, I'm using a COP setup for ignition and thought maybe one of the coils is going out? any idea?

This happend to me. I did every thing aswell swaped ecu, wires, plugs replaced fuel filter and transistor did a boast leak test i was stumped. All it was, THE COIL PACK put in my buddies and solved the problem. See if you can find one from someone and swaped it in see if that fixes it before spending the mula for one I would do the samething if it is TPS before buying a new one. Look in the classifieds.:talon: :thumb:
 
Re-did my boost leak test...forgot I took off the one pipe to have the NX bung welded on since my last leak test and there was one small leak just before the TB but after the MAF.

Drove car today and the problem seems to have gone away but I still feel that the small leak probably wasn't the culprit...I'm leaning toward it being a coil but I'll drive it this weekend and see if all is well.

Also, I'm running COP so there are no wires to check and the main reason I'm leaning toward it being a coil is because this is exactly what happened when I was running spark plug wires and they wore out.

How exactly do I check the coils?

Update:

Car drove great last nite and this morning with no problems, then while cruising on highway the CEL popped and it started running on 2 cyclinders. Pulled over, shut it off, checked everything under the hood and it all looked good. Got back in the car turned it on and it ran fine...then it did the same thing five min down the road. Shut it off, turned it back on, ran fine for five or so min...repeat all the way home.

Checked DTC, its random cylinder misfire. Anyone have any ideas? Now the car isn't even driveable. Thanks all...this is turning into a long week.

in reference to swapping out coil packs..........will a 2g pack fit on a 1g? im having the same annoying problem as you.
 
Did either of you two ever find out what your problem was? I am having something similar happen now.
