A buddy of mine has a 1990 eclipse gsx and did a complete rebuild with headwork wiseco pistons and eagle rods. He got it all ready to go and started it. the car ran for about a minute and a half and then made this seized type of sound and he shut it off right away. The motor turns over by hand but is very rough. What could be the problem? it had 5 quarts of oil in it and after running for that little amount of time there was nothing showing up on the dipstick and no oil on the ground. it sat all night and when he checked the oil this morning it was full. Do you guys think it could be the oil pump? Also the head looks like it has no oil in it just a little assembly lube from when it was assembled. What kind of damage do u think this could have caused? What should we do or look for? Any input would be great thanks guys.

ya but if the oil pump was not primed then why after it was running for a minute did no oil show up on the dipstick it must have been doing something with that oil it had 5 quarts in it and still does once it cooled down it was full on the dipstick

i dont think he primed the oil pump what should the plugs look like? Looks like it is burning alright they are not black like a tan color.
