Oil Pressure Gauge

My stock oil pressure gauge sits right above the high warning mark all the time no matter if im idleing or romping on it. It always sits there. And it does move barely after a long period of idleing or accelerating but for the most part it sits right up there almost at the end of the gauge.... Why is this? I dont know where the oil pressure relief valve is to check that, but i have check the pressure switch and sending unit for the gauge and they test out ok.... What the heck is wrong here?WTF

The relief valve is on the oil pump bracket. Hook up an aftermarket oil pressure gauge first to make sure that thier isn't high resistance in a wire or something like that and your oil pressure is actually fine.

Sounds like your sensor wire has a short to ground. Does it do it with the engine off? If it's only with the engine on, the next suspect is the sensor.

when the key is in the on position wether the motor is on or off it does it

You have a short, then. Or a bad sensor with a short in it.
