ok i have a 95 eclipse gsx with a six bolt swop.

this is really weird. my motor is built with eagle h beam rods. and ross 8.5 pistons.
the crank was rebalanced. and I'm using red line f1 bearings

i was driving the car perfectly fine without a problem. when i blew off my oil filter.
i pulled over immediately. and had it towed home. did an oil change on it.
i put on a 3000th vr4 oil filter.
and 4.5 quarts of mobile one synthetic.

my motor only has 700 miles though.
i think the oil did it

when i go to start it . it hesitates like the timing is off. and when i do get it to run. it knocks really bad. when i crank it over by hand. it feels like the valves are interfering with the pistons.

im going to check the timing today, and see is my timing belt skipped some teath,

any ideas

Man that sucks, how did you find out the filter came loose? did you get an oil light and smoke under the hood and pulled over to check it? I'm just trying to figure how long you drove it before you realized there was no oil pressure. Our motors USUALLY dont jump timing unless you drive it hard. I know how ya feel man, on a fresh motor and all. It can happen to anyone.

You can hope that it's the valves, you might have spun a bearing(or four). If the bearings have spun, that might be why it feels like the valves are interfering.

We can all hope that there's nothing seriously wrong, but how did you blow off an oil filter?

Did you prime the turbo before starting the car? I started mine, after it had sat for a few months, and the turbo sounded like a freaking jet engine.

Are you sure your battery is good? Are you sure that your starter is good?

If your oil filter did blow off due to a manufacture's defect, save it. They owe you an engine :p If in fact you did shut the engine down immediately, you shouldn't have any knocking issues. The only thing i can think is that after running out of oil, the pump lost its prime. This could cause the engine to run dry until the pump pulls the oil up.

ya it was deffinatly jumped timing. i did thje timeing on t in 45 minutes and adjusted mthe tensioner so it was allot tighter, haven't had a problem since. Infact its balls fast. what i cant fiquer out is why im getting a fuel cut sernsation when i run more then 15 lbs of boost.
It only happens when the rpm's get over 5500. Im running RC550 injectors

and i had my ecu re- socketed and a chip made by dsmchips to compinsate. Oh ya and im running a 16g turbo. with an afc.

any ideas

actually i heard the chasnge in my motor. my ears are really tuned into my car. arn't yours.

oh and mobile 1 full sythetic is the most amazing oil on the planet. my motor loves it and i sware my turbo spools faster

with your fuel questions, what kind a fuel pump do you have. Did you upgrade it from stock, i was told if you need to run 550cc and is tuned right probley should have at least a 190lph check it out.
