Possible Bad Radiator?

My car recently started overheating, it would go past the middle to pretty much to the P in temp and if i drive the needle would go back down to the middle of the gauge and it only overheats when i am idling. I don't see any leaks from my radiator and was wondering if it may be something else like a thermostat. Thank you

Definitely replace the thermostat. They are cheap and extremely easy to replace.

You might as well replace the radiator cap as well. Another cheap and easy fix.

Once those steps are taken, then update us on the overheating issue.

P.S. Don't let it overheat too bad, you can blow a headgasket or warp your head.

take it anywhere? haha i had 3 diffrent shops tell me there was nothing wrong with my 3000 its "supposed" to idle hot so after i changed the thermostat cap all the little thing cause it wasnt leaking it ended up the main fan went out so at idle right before it would be in the red on the gauge "overheating" it would kick on the ac fan and drop back down check your fans make sure there kicking on good luck just went threw 4 cooling system problems in 4 months

exactly as stated above. Make sure your fans are coming on. If thats the problem, you are definitely over heating. Its the sensor in the bottom of the radiator; mine failed and caused the head gasket to fail. And that is A LOT of money to spend for a $30 sensor going bad
