HELLLLP!! SS Oil line

Hey guys I searched and couldn't find anything. I just bought a brand new SS oil feed line. I went to install it and the nut that connects to the 90 degree elbow on the filter housing keeps popping off the SS line. There is a ring on the line that I can snap the nut back onto, but everytime I try to tighten the nut it pushes the nut off that little ring and pops the SS line out. Can someone please help me....did I get a faulty line?

Where did you buy the line from? can you show us some pictures? Do the threads look cross threaded?

I bought the line off ebay. The guy has an ebay store and he has been very nice to me. He is sending me a new line, but hopefully this new one doesn't do the same thing. Here is a picture of it. I looked at the thrads and they look fine. The picture is a little blurry but you can see the little ring I was talkin about. It seems like that ring should attatch to the nut and not come off....

Yeah, that piece is broken. I would order a new one. RRE is a great place to get those lines from. Their number is 562- 777- 1522. Call them up and tell them what turbo you are running and they well have it out to you in no time.

Well the guy said he will send me a new one. He said that I tightened it too tight and that's why it popped....

Thats great and all but, how much did you tighten it? I mean did you use a breaker bar to tighten it? Remember that you get what you pay for. But, the line should not come undone like it did.

All I can say is be careful with the next line I guess. Good luck
