Ok i looked around but i couldnt find anythign that related precisely to my problem. Let me start with when the problem first occurred. I was driving to my frineds house and i was low on gas and out of nowhere the cra just started sputtering really bad and wouldnt let me accelerate far past 1000rpm's. I thaught that i had possibly ran out of gas and sucked somethign up into the fuel filter or something else along the gas line. I had somebody bring more gas to me and i put it in and drove the car home in the bad condition that it was. Ever since then it has been sitting there. I think my turbo is shot because i burn oil really bad and the turbo whines when i give it boost. But that was a problem BEFORE this happened. Now ive tried stating it up a couple of times but it only sputtered and ran really rough as if it were only firing on 3 cylinders. Eventually once it got a little warm it would just shut off completely. I let it sit for a few months and decided to try again so i looked under the hood befor ei tried and realized that the whole time the intercooler flex hose from the J-Pipe was disconnected. So i reconnected it in hopes that it would run good but my alarm system wasnt working right and i couldnt start it so i compleyely disconnected the Viper alarm. There was only one inline bypass that i cut and reconnected so i dont think there is any other disconnections, i cant see any at all. SO i tried to start it after that and it turned and i could here it firing a few times but it wouldnt start. So i thaught i was low on gas and went and got 3 more gallons to pour in. After i put the gas in i tried again but it just turned with no combustion. Now im stumped and clueless as to why it wont start. Can anybody give me a checklist? BTW i open the spark plug cover and i noticed a pool of oil sitting in the corner and i have no idea how it would get there but it doesnt look good. Im assuming it could be one of VERY MANY problems or more. PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE THIS. Thank you.
 
ok i will perform a compression test ASAP, but being that i dont have the right sockets for the spark plugs and i dont have a compression test kit it may be a while.
 
oki manage to get a compression tester kit form advance auto..i wasnt able to let the engine warm up first as directed becuase it doesnt start, but i just let it crank a lot of times in order to reach max pressure. it seems like the compression is in somewhat decent condition, results are as follows:

from left to right: 150psi, 155psi, 145psi, 150psi.

i also noticed the plugs look horrible they are completely covered in carbon deposits and seem covered in oil too, i have pictures but i dont know how to upload them. if you want to see them post back to me and tell me how to send them.

Was the throttle fully open during cranking? Though not perfect, you can rule out compression being the problem.

No need, I can already imagine what they look like since the cylinders have not been firing. Now that compression has been ruled out, move on to ignition. Check for spark on all four cylinders then clean/replace the plugs and make sure they are gapped to .028".

Basically, you need three things to start and keep the car running.

1. Compression, eliminated.

2. Ignition, properly timed ignition as well as correct firing order, common problems after verifying sparks on all fours are fouled/incorrectly gapped plugs, ignition base timing being off.

3. Fuel, getting fuel in the cylinders alone is not enough, the A/F ratio has to be correct. Some of the common causes of wrong A/F ratio are bad fuel, clogged filter, injectors, defective or disconnect ECT (Engine coolant temperature) sensor, defective FPR.

Follow these logic and eliminate one element at a time and you should be able to narrow down the cause.
 
Thank you so much you gave me more than enough info, but only considering the fact that the car started right up after i clean the plugs and put them back. its been so long and i cant beleive all i had to do was reconnect the intercooler flexhose and clean the plugs. I feel dumb now LOL. its okay though if you wouldnt have told me to check compression i never would have cleaned the plugs and still woulda been stumped. I also realize now that my compression isnt as bad as i thaught it would be. its moderate but not severely poor. THANK GOD. Now my final problem is replacing my P.O.S. EvoIIIGT turbo.(im burning a LOT of oil and the turbo whines when i try to give it boost, i was told the turbo is burning the oil because the bearings are worn) I hope im not going to far off topic but do u have any suggestions for a 50-trim that would mount on to the evoIII manifold? Thanks a lot this forum really made a difference!
 
Easy fix is always good. :thumb: As for a bolt-on 50 trim, look though the product catalog up top, call and speak to our sponsor vendors, search the forum on people's personal experiences, then make a informed decision.
