lancer 02 es transmission problem

yo wud up ppl...this site is tight. anyways like the title says my home boy car is automatic. It jumps out of gear when he puts the car in drive. I told him that his gears are gone but he dont believe me. Can someone with tranny experience give me some input ###. thanx in advance

Does the gear selector actually slip out of drive into neutral, or what? More detailed description of the problem would be beneficial. Automatics use a planetary gear set, they don't actually jump out of gear. It would likely be an issue with the valve-body, or maybe the front pump? I am not really an automatic kind of guy, but more information (in plain english) is always helpful.

Well when the car goes in drive, the rpm jump up to 1500 then it engages the gear and the car skips forward. Hope this helps

change the filter of the tranny as it may be cloged and not flowing if not the pump is getting weak and have been eating at your clutches and there gone but lack of flow from a cloged filter could also cause this hope this helps

need posts plus if you are looking through the forums and need answers most are a dead ends just like this one but now someone who comes across it they could find it useful instead of a link that should be deleted 4 years ago because was useless

You need posts so you post on a 4 year old thread? You're not helping anyone. Hence a DSM site with a Lancer (does NOT have a 4g platform so this site while be of help to no one on here.)

Get your "needed posts" on recent threads. If you're using this site for just classifieds, good luck with that. Mods go over your posts to make sure they're not half-assed and common sense posts. :thumb

The info I gave is a great basic test to do on any auto tranny and im building three 4g6e projects right now classifieds are the least of my worries I need the whole forum and still think that help could come from my answer no matter what kind of auto car it is. ps i would love to get help on tunning man and that is the biggest thing and why im trying to get post sorry if i made you upset hope we can help each other out in the future :thumb

It's all good. Just watch how old you go with posts. Be recent as you can be with help instead of digging up old posts.

Also, mods will tell you to work on spelling, grammar, punctuation. Be sure to use it and use it well. Just a heads up.
