i dropped my transmission today to put in a new clutch. got the clutch and everything bolted up and got the transmission to sit flush with the motor, i thought. well only two of the bolts connecting the tranny to the block are on my car (shocking since its low mile 2 owner thats completely stock. sucks a hack mechanic has worked on it.) so i just put them on the top for the time being until i can find the two missing bolts. got the axles back in and all the suspension put back together and went under the car to see that the bottom back of the transmission is separated from the motor by about 1/8'' the dowel down on that side is partially in its hole so i know that it is not stuck. the tranny mount was not on yet so i know that was not lifting the bottom of the transmission up. i tried taking one of the top tranny bolts and putting it in that back corner and using the bolt to draw the motor and tranny together but it was turning way to hard so i quit before i got cross threaded.
what could be causing the transmission to not sit flush with the motor? and does anybody have a size for the two bottom tranny bolts (one on each side)
thanks, shaun
