Last night, my passenger side power window stopped working, and I was unable to roll it back up. I Checked the window motor with a test light and it has power. Today, I took out the window motor, and i hooked it up directly to the battery and it works, if i reverse the wires, it goes the other way. For some reason, when the motor is in the car, it is not getting a ground causeing it not to work. I was wondering if anybody has any ideas on what could be causing this. I am not sure how the motor grounds because when the window goes up, one wire will be positive, and the other negative, and when the window goes down, it will reverse, the wire that was positive is now negative, and the negative wire is positive. Could this be a relay? Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I have a 2g talon

Thanks a lot, thats what it was.... I never thought of that, I figured if the window lock was pressed, I would still be able to roll the window down from the driverside. I guess thats not the case in this car LOL. Man I feel like an idiot.

Do you have the Window Lock switch pressed?

Wow! I moved to Colorado in December and since I got my car shipped here and picked it up the pass side window has not worked. So I got new buttons thinking that was the problem since the cap was missing. Took the door panel off and was about to get a new window regulator. Came on here to search how to replace it and found this thread. Sure enough the window lock button was on. :ohdamn:

I just had this problem like two weeks ago. That was one of the first things i checked and it wasnt the problem. It was my switch.
