So, heres my dilemma. My 6 bolt went the way of the dodo, and I happened to have a 1g 7 bolt laying around. Everything went fine, it's all installed. I reused my 6 bolt head fyi. It won't start It's getting fuel because I can see it pooling up on the pistons, it's getting spark through the wires. Just will not fire. Turns over and thats it. So if you guys happen to think of anything I may have overlooked or have a guess you'd like to say please. I'm open for suggestions. Thanks, Adam

take out the MPI fuse, all the way on the left on the batt + terminal, blue. take out all the plugs and let them dry off, or if they're old plugs, get new ones its worth it. crank the engine with all that out for 10-15 sec, and then put a few drops of oil in each cyl. crank it again a few seconds, re-install plugs and MPI fuse and try again. the cylinders were probably dry from sitting, and with fuel spraying on them they washed down and you have little to no compression. try that and see how it goes

No sir, I can't find the compression tester. I'm gonna look around in the other garage and see what I find.

Yes, thanks for the reply. I have tried it and am still not having any luck. I've got a different head I'm thinking of trying but I'm just not too excited about doing it for the 3 billionth time.

I'd wait for the compression check first, just to see what's up. Are you using the head that had that (at least) one chipped valve?

sup buddy. did you check your timing or your CAS? if it isnt those, how about your vacuum lines? if you're getting fuel and spark, then those mentioned should be your problem for a simple fix. hope this helps.

Ok, well thanks for all the replies but problem has been solved. I have 0 comperssion in all 4 cylinders. Pulled the head and all 8 intake valves are bent. For anyone in the future that may have to do this type of swap, please remember to put the crank in time with the 7 bolt marks. Not the 6 bolt. I was still using the 6 bolt oil pump.
