Well...
First off I would have to say that your almost guaranteed to get hit for your spelling and grammar, from a moderator. Your first sentence is practically the whole paragraph. Your wording looks like your typing on AIM. I think that you need to delete your entire post and start over thoroughly explaining your problem. Maybe then you will be able to receive some help with your problem from fellow tuners.

yeah, use some punctuation.

Now, we need some more feedback to better answer this question:

1. Is your shifter hard to move around?
2. Is there a lot of slop in your shifter?
3. Have you had a friend look at the tranny linkage while cycling through the gears?

I'm guessing you have some loose mounts somewhere which allows your cables to move around freely, and or you have some bad linkage cables

yes im very sorry for the puncuation and grammer.. i was in a hurry..
1.no my shifter is perfectly fine like a knife through butter smooth.
3. yes i did hav a friend do that but we dont really know ### we r looking for really but one of my friends (dsm owner) told me that the cables go bad on these cars alot but now that i think of it i had an issue w/ my intercooler puiping blowing off which runs sorta close to the tranny linkage possibly knocked some bolts loose could loose bolts be the problem?...
AGAIN IM VERY SORRY FOR THE GRAMMAR

ok so i checked my linkages and my linkage mounts and both of the mounts are pretty loose but the bolts are pretty tight just the mounts are loose wondering ### to do and how to do it if someone could wlk me through this i would appreciate it...

If I'm not mistaken, there is only one linkage mount on the left side (standing in front of the car) of the motor. Its down by the block on the left. You'll see the linkages attached to it, and it has two bolts to hold it to the block. You just make sure the mount bolts are tight so the mount isnt moving around.....that's the mount I was talking about. Are you looking at something different?

I just swapped out my 96 GSX tranny a couple months ago and yes, there's only one linkage mount where you have described it. They sit basically right on top of the tranny, and the mount is held in with what as I recall to be two 10mm bolts. If you want to tighten them, simply loosen the bolts a little bit, and have someone hold the bracket in place while you retighten the bolts. It's a lot easier if you have a buddy there to help otherwise it's nearly impossible to get them tight because the bracket will want to lean the other way. Hope that helped.

well yes thats what i meant that their was on bracket which in fact was loose.... so if i can jiggle that bracket than it will make my shifting weird and possibly not let it go into 3rd and 4th sometimes its really weird but i am pretty sure that this is what is causing my shifting problems.. and on my car i believe they are 12mm bolts in which i do not have that open end wrench:cry: but i have 11 and 13 LOL so that helps describe my problem a little bit better

I had those bolts come completly off because of incompetent people who installed the tranny before i bought the car. I lost just about every gear. Luckily the bolts were just laying on the transmission, boy was i lucky with that one.

WOW LOL i would have went down to that shop and put the smack down on them retard of mechanics :thumb: so this is most likely my gear problem thanks for the help o and i still have not been able to locate my 12mm wrench  so i have not had a chance to fix it which is pretty lazy of me considering i could get off my ass and go to the local home depot and pick up a set for about 20 dollars :D instead of risking screwing up my tranny which could really burn a whole in my pocket which would not be good considering i am about to buy and s2k:D

ya i would have but i dunno who did the work. the guy i bought the car from just said he had a tranny put in before i bought it.

Ok well i tightened up the bracket but the weird thing is their is still about 1" play in it so i rigged it by putting some electrician tie wire and tied it tight so their would be no play in it but the shifting did'nt change.. which leads me to the conclusion that my shifter cables could have gotten gumd up or something like that and i should replace them??.... any replies.
(sockets will not fit because the tranny is right their but i went out and bought me a set of snap on ratchet wrenches a lot of dough but well worth it i mean come on i own a dsm they'll definately come in handy)
