Location of little black clip for starter?

I recently swapped my motor and transmission in my 2g gs-t and can't find the little black clip that used to clip on the starter. Can anyone tell me where it comes from? It's a PITA to find now that everything is back in the car. Appreciate the help.

Are you talking about the little black clip that plugs in between the two posts?

Yep that's the one, the little black clip that slides on to make a connection.

Im not sure about 2Gs but the starter need direct power from the battery. Find a + and a - from the battery that connect and go to the starter, it should branch off of that wiring harness. On a 1G its on the same line as the back-up light senson comming from the transaxle case.
