im thinking of trading my 92 civic dx for an eclipse...i already saw it its a 95 gst with a jdm engine i dont no which one he said its jdm though.....my question is it has details like the headliner is falling and the airbag thing is unsticking....minor things but the outside needs a paintjob and theres a couple things with the engine.....1it has a check engine light,could it b becuz of the swap?....2the rear tire hits on bumps it makes a scrapping sound....3the biggest one the trans scraches every gear almost and supposibly thres no second gear, he said it was fine until he changed the clutch himself thats when it started to scratch...............do u think i should trade it knowing all these problems.....### could b the scraching thing the clutch? and how do i fix all this...i just want it to run right.....the engine now that i remember is an evo 3 engine so yea?

Find a local DSM person. It won't be hard down there. If you want a good one, it'll cost more.

This one sounds like it's been beat to shit.

You should really take Defiants advice. As for what a car is worth, you can always check KellyBlueBook.com. Just remember the car is worth whatever the market will bear. Personally, I'd run not walk away from this one. Best bet would be to look for a totally stock car with all maintenance records. You can find them, but they are harder to find as time goes by. Patience is the key.

I agree. Sounds like you'd put more time, money, and effort into this car than just finding a better one with less problems. And if it has this many obvious problems how many more not so obvious ones will there be? Sounds like the tranny alone may cost more to fix than what you'll pay for the car (which may be the why he's selling). And why hasn't he fixed the engine light problem unless it's serious or too costly? Better find out why but my advice - move on. Used DSM's are plentiful.
