I have a BIG problem. I was getting an estimated 12-13 mpg for the past few weeks, so I assumed it was an o2 sensor. I just had the o2's replaced because I couldn't get them off worth my life. I spent two days trying to get them off! When I got the car back, it gets a loud "whooshing noise" at about 1300RPM and a fuel cut at 2000RPM.

As a result, the car has little power. It idles at 300-400RPM and won't go to more than 25mph while driving. It's also running rich as hell. Sputters and black exhaust when idling. Threw a CEL before o2's, Fuel Trim Lean or Rich (Bank 1), Idle Air Control Motor Circuit Malfunction.

I checked the ECU in case it burned out on me, and it looked fine. Maybe a boost leak? Fuel injector? I've never felt a car running on three cylinders but I wouldn't be surprised if it is with the lack of power it has. Anything you guys could suggest would be great.

The wires look ok, there's insulation on them, but it came right out of the package and I bought it so it should be intact. The connector is connected too.

I've been reading an seen it could be FPR or MAS. I disconnected the MAS plug, let it run for 3 minutes, and it idled 800-900RPM, but it literally bounced from 800-900 and still ran rich.

Take it back to whoever installed them. The car did not that way before. They need to figure out what they did, whether they used the wrong o2 sensor or what. It has happened, sometime stuff gets boxed wrong. Its happened in the shop I work at.

It's definitely possible. I did bring it back, 30mins after I got it actually, and they put it up on a lift, to find nothing. They basically said "heres the codes(which I already had), maybe wrong parts, we don't work on turbos so couldn't tell ya."

I'm just wondering if it could be an injector or FPR problem now. I've also heard MAS...I'm lost and it sucks because this is my daily driver.

I reset my ECU and now the car runs great. 14.7 A/F, perfect o2 voltage, great battery power. I'm running a datalogger on it again tonight to see if it throws the same codes.

I think it was due to the fact that I ran the car for about three weeks with a faulty or maybe alltogether bad o2 sensor (bank 1). The ECU may have been dumping fuel due to that condition, and when the working o2's were put in, it got confused...somehow causing it to add MORE fuel and causing my problem.

The only thing that still confuses me was that "whooshing noise"....???

I'll run the datalogger tonight and I'll let you guys know how it looks.

All of those original symptoms point to a boost leak. Have you done a boost leak test lately? The whooshing noise is usually caused by boost pressure escaping the intake path before it enters the intake manifold.

Resetting the ECU would not actually fix that, so I can't explain how that worked. Just double check for leaks.

No I have not done a boost leak test, still. The only thing remaining is bad gas mileage, but its not horrible so I've been dealing with it. I haven't done a boost test before, so I need to make something so I can do it soon. I will make sure to run the test soon though.
