what should i do first?

the 1990 eclipse i just bought is all stock with 250k on engine, the guy i bought it from didnt kno anything about them, not much myself either but i love to learn, n e way when i start to get it up to about 4000rpm it starts shaking and almost like bouncing in the front wheels, what could that be and also it idles at about 1k-2k rpm(it changes at different time) is that ok ### when it is at 1k it chugs kinda and vibrates everything? What should i begin replacing first? Thank you very much for helping responces!!!!

Full complete tune up. Plugs, filters, fluids, replace all the vacuum hoses and leak test once replaced. (Build leak tester found on vfaq.com) Timing belt replacement ect. also read everything you can about your car on these forums to learn more. Good luck and welcome to the club!

as you can see i am new here too, and alot of what you can learn is already here. First thing to do though is tune up though, and i second that, my car wasn't taken care of very well, and with a simple tune up my car was already started to run better, idle was better, that kinda thing.

welcome to the world of dsms/being broke. As far as the shaking, I just had the same problem with my 1g, I changed everything from the driveshaft to new rims and tires, and it ended up just being a bad axle. So before you dig in deep, I would check that first.

Alignment and full balance on tires. That goes along with the regular maintenance...
