My windshield washer isn't spraying water

My windshield washer isn't spraying water, i filled the washer tank full but the washer doesn't spray when i turn it on. Can somebody tell me what is the problem and where is it located? I'm thinking that it's the washer fuse but i can't seem to find where the fuse is. Or maybe the motor, if someone could teach me how to reach the washer motor that will helps alot. Thanks.:dsm:
 
I'm not sure were the fuse is but the washer tank and pump is under your spare tire, at least that is where it is on my GSX.

On his car 95 n/t(i know cause i had one) the motor is mounted on fillerbody it self(where you pour the washer fluid) lift it up and you'll see the little motor right on it. to test it just get two pieces of wire and attach the to the motor (where you plug it in) one of those says + that one you put to the red terminal on the battery and the other to the black. if when connected you feel the motor spinning is good if not,......................:tease: DUHH.

Is it winter in your neck of the woods?.. maybe the pump is frozen..or it froze up and when you used it,it blew the fuse.
 
there are 2 washer reserviors in a gs+. i believe the one you are talking about is in the engine bay against the firewall on the drivers side next to the brake master cylinder. its easy to unplug. you can either use a multimeter to see if youre getting signal, or just bench test the pump with some jumper wires.
 
Check the terminals and connectors for corrosion.
I just fixed mine the other day. Turned out the connectors on the pump were so corroded that it wasent making a connection with the plug. Simple fix.
 
I had a similar problem...washer pump pumping but only coming out of one washer nozzle. All I did was got a little needle and pushed them into the nozzle holes to clean out the blockage and wahhhhla. Good as new!
 
Im in the same boat as you man. My nozzles havent worked since I bought the car, ive looked for kinks and everything and still cant figure it out.
 
A few years back, I owned a '96 GS and had the same problem. I'd checked for kinks, and had air blown through my hoses to ensure there wasn't any obstructions. In the end I purchased a new motor for mine at Canadian Tire and went to work replacing it. It was a son of a bi*** to get the reservoir out of the engine bay, but when I finally did, I yanked the old motor out and realised suddenly that my new motor wouldn't fit in. Either way, I noticed a ton of black gunk had built up on the old motor right in the connection area, so I cleaned it off before reinstalling the old motor and reservoir...just like that, the wiper fluid came out so strong that it shot right over the top of my car!! Haha, I readjusted the nozzle angles and away I went to return the unused washer fluid motor. Give it a shot, worked great for me. Best of luck man!
 
Thanks for the info. guys.I found the problem this morning & fix it.
I know it wasn't the nozzles cause i just change mine's to the 3g ones not even a week ago.It was the connecter between the hoses(I had the blue ones).I change it with a another one.And it work fine now.
Hope that helps for anyone that have the same problems as I did.:thumb:
 
mine doesnt work either. Its filled up with fluid and when you do pull the lever from inside you can hear the motor going crazy but nothing shoots out. As soon as i turn my car on, even with full fluid, the windshield washer light comes on. What causes that light to get triggered?
 
Wow people. First thing to do is see if the pump is working. Disconnect the hose directly at the pump. If fluid comes out its a clog in the lines somewhere. If not then take the resevior out and apply power to one side of the motor harness and ground the other. If it works, then it's an power supply problem. If it doesn't then, the pump is bad, replace it.
 
I came up with this flow chart to simply things

Step 1)
Check windshield squirter operation.
A) If squirters function properly, don’t touch anything else, your probably just break it.
B) If squirters are not functioning properly go to Step 2.

Step 2)

Remove the hose closest to the pump. Have a buddy squirt the windshield.
A) If fluid is coming out, problem is a clogged component, go to step 3.
B) If fluid does not come out the pump, to problem is an electrical component, go to Step 5.

Step 3)
Find the point where the current hose is connected to another hose further away from the pump. Have a buddy squirt the windshield.
A) If fluid is not coming out then replace the hose and go to Step 1
B)if fluid is coming out, repeat Step 2 on the next hose further from the pump.
If there are no more hoses left and fluid is still coming from the last hose go to Step 4.

Step 4)
Assuming you have worked your way through every hose, starting at the pump and going to the hood. Replace the windshield squirters.
A) If fluid comes out the new squirters you’re done, congratulations.
B) If fluid does not come out, you’re an idiot, you messed something up, shoot yourself before you breed.

Step 5)
Remove the reservoir, using the harness and some small wires. Connect one wire to the battery or other good 12v supply, use another wire to connect the remaining wire to a good ground.
A) If pump does not click on (and you are sure you got a good power supply and ground) replace the pump and go to Step 1.
B) If pump does click on go to Step 6.

Step 6)
Locate and check the condition of the fuse responsible for the windshield squirter operation.
A) If the fuse is bad replace and go to Step1.
B) If the fuse is good go to Step 7 (if you have a Relay).

Step 7)
Locate and check the condition of the relay responsible for the windshield squirter operation. Using the diagram on top of the relay (if there is not a diagram on top of the relay, PM me) Connect power to one side and the signal circuit and ground the other side. (See example on my next post)
A) If the fuse did not click, replace the fuse and got to Step 1.
B) If you heard the relay make an audible “click” go to Step 8.

Step 8)
The last point of failure is the electric wiring from the switch to windshield washer motor. Have a buddy squirt the windshield. Connect the positive (red) prong of the multi-meter to one end of the wire (pin or slot) and the negative (black) prong to a good ground. Check both sides.
A) One of the pins/slots of the harness should be more then 2v (at least, depending on manufacturer). If you do not have more then 2v then there is a break or short in the wire. At this point, you should take it to a certified automotive electrician. And tell them you did this test (print it out if you have to). Your other option is to wire in a manual switch make sure to use a relay if you do that.

B) If you are getting voltage, See Option B of Step 4
 
Regarding Step 7.

A circuit like this will use a 4-way (or 4-prong) relay. The way it works is when power is applied to the signal circuit it causes the switch circuit (thats normally open) to close and it will click audible quiet. So all you have do to is supply power to the signal circuit. It doesn't matter which way the power goes as long as there is power period. The signal circuit is identified as a a wire with loops on it. The swith circuit is identified by its draw bridge like picture. See below for examples.

In this example you would put power to 1 and ground 2 (or power 2 and ground 1).

I know that this has already been covered, but make sure that all the tubes are obstruction free. I had the same problem and it was becuase a T-Fitting was crimped a little bit by my hood and my strut-tower brace. I had to go through and adjust all the tubing to make it spray correctly.:thumb:
