I took my PCV off today. It took a little pressure to get it to open like it should, but it did. I cleaned it with degreaser and it seems fine. Is it normal for it to operate normally when it is level, but when I point it up, it works backwards?

I went to autozone to check it out, but their PCV didn't work the way the OEM one does. I could blow in the valve on either side. The OEM one is one way...

You will find that most PCV valves you get at the local auto parts store will not work. The OEM PCV valve is the only sure way to get an operable one, and even then you should check it before you leave.

The PCV valve should operate correctly no matter what position the valve is in. You should be able to blow through from the threaded side, and NOT blow through from the barbed side.

After I checked the autozone one, I stopped by the dealership and checked one of theirs. And imagine that, it works the way it is supposed to. A little pricey at $13 for something that cost $2 to make but oh well.
