Ok, so this morning I got into my car after it had been sitting for 2 days. It started right up and i back out of my friend's driveway and headed up the road. Since it wasn't up to temp I was keeping it out of boost, so I was holding my gears a bit long to keep backpressure. Once i got to third gear at about 3 grand the motor cut out. I pulled it over and restarded it and it started fine. I started driving again, and once again 3rd gear at 3 grand it stalled. I turned around and went back to his house, i checked the fluids and and the only thing low was the oil, but there was oil, so i put more in and tried driving again. It never did anything weird again the whole trip home(about 15 miles). Any ideas whats going on? Sorry this is so longwinded, but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything:thumb:

im kind of guessing, but i know some engines/makes of vehicle have a cut out switch that if the oil pressure, or engine temp get above or below a given number they will shut the engine down to protect it from damage. an example
2004 ford focus, if the temp gets so high, it shuts down A/C first, then it will begin shutting down other components to protect itself, until finally shutting down the whole engine, and it can only be restarted by the dealership through there computer.
this kind of thing has been around in more basic forms for a long time. i wouldnt be suprised to find that low oil pressure would be the result of this. it makes sense, you added oil and it ran fine. you might look for oil leaks and consider fitting an oil pressure gauge if you dont find any leaks. so you can watch whats going on.
