Montreal,
Hi all, another problem i have with my Eagle Talon 92 AWD. When i start the car, if i look in the head by the hole to put the oil, i don't see oil coming out of the lash adjuster (lifters). Its like the oil is stuck and its not going in the motor.

Any ideas ?

Thx

You should be able to see some oil coming out when the car is running when the oil cap is off. Run the car for a little bit and then shut the car off, take the valve cover off to see if there is any oil coming up lubricating any parts.

you probly wont see the oil, do you have some ticking going on or something, or no oil pressure?

the hole in the rocker arm shoots the oil on the roller, very tiny hole, some may leak out around the end were the rocker sets on it but would be very little i would think, just enough to keep it oiled.

are there other problems you are having? oil related.

Is it making any nasty noises? I have seen Balance shaft elim kits, and spun bearings cause low to no oil pressure. I would prime the oil pump to make sure.

If your looking through the cap right after you start it you will not see oil. It takes about 2 minutes for oil to reach the head. As long as the cam's look to be oiled yours in business. Oil is finding its way there somehow. If not, you will hear it.

Here is the update... I changed my oil pump for a new one just in case. There was no oil going to the head. So I decided to take off the cover of the head to have a better view and still nothing.

I don't know what it's called but it's on the right of the head with 3 small bolts (10mm) that the oil propagates in the head. When I turn the oil pump with an electric drill, I see the oil coming out of a small hole in the head (I don't know what the thing is called) going VERY VERY VERY SLOW.

Is this normal or should it go faster?

Is something blocking the oil?

Thanks

if the crank is turning 1000 revolutions per minute, the oil pump pully is about the same size as it is, then it should be turning that also, i am not sure you are turning it fast enough.
nasty noises you say, how is the car running is smooth idle or rough a little?
my belt had jumped 2 teeth on one pully and 1 on the other, it made some nasty noises also just like lifter tick but ran, i stopped it quickly and redone them, luckily with no bent valves, my pistons have the reliefs cut a little more to clear.

The small holes you saw oil coming out sounds right. Theere are no spray jets up there. How many holes was oil coming out of?
