I went to a car wash today (one of the ones where you stay in your car and it is pushed through) and I get out of the wash and my car is running on 3 cylinders... I thought I hydrolocked or something. I was so scared... I took it on the main road and couldn't boost for shit and it was still running crappy. I pulled over and popped the hood to see if my filter was soaked or something and couldn't find anything... I went back into the car and started her up and it ran fine... I have a 91 Talon with a 4g63T motor in it. Motor has 30,000 on it. I was thinking the plug wires could have shorted out? Any ideas?

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me a few months ago. I ended up parking my car for a few days and when I got around to pulling my spark plugs one had corroded. Replaced all my of them and slapped on a new set of plug wires and it's been fine ever since.

Thanks for the help. I'm gunna replace those tomorrow! Any other ideas guys?

yea check the plugs but also check for vacum leaks and ground wires i had an experience with a car wash also where the undercarriage wash took out my line on the wastegate and aground my car ended up soundin like a wrx:talon:

Lol. Bad plug wires would definately be ftl... Especially since I got my car YESTERDAY!!! But I know what you mean... Anyway, I talked to the original owner and he thinks the plugs and plug wires are from the original motor (166,000 miles on them). I am definately in need of plugs/wires. Thanks guys

Plug wires were the culprit. My car would also buck really bad at about 4000 RPM. I thought it was fuel cut, because I'm running about 15 lbs of bewst, but the wires stopped that and now she runs like a champ!!!!!! I <3 MY DSM! :talon:
