B. O. V. hose... needed?

I just bought a 92 TSI AWD. I was messing around withi it and i was woundering if it is ok to unplug the hose that comes from the BOV to the intake pipe before the turbo. One of my friends said it might be bad but if they make BOV's that vent into the atmosphere then why not diconnect it. I figured i would ask before i hurt my new car if it is bad for it. Thanks.

That's your recirculation hose and your stock intake system is set up to measure air from that pipe (the intake pipe). So technically, if you remove that hose (or vent to the atmosphere) your car will think there is more air coming in to the engine than actually reaches the it and so it will send more fuel than needed. The only way to bypass this is to get a set up which meters the air at the throttle body or what they call a "blow through" set up.

To summarize, you could do it and your bov would be louder but your car will idle badly and run rich.
