Where does the Speedometer needle sit at for 0mph on the 5-145mph gauges?

Can I get a pic or description of where the 90 speedometer needle sits when the car isnt moving? I think my needle is off and that would explain why I got nailed for 83 when I thought I was going 75.

It doesnt sit anywhere, the speedometer cable rotates and the gauge reacts to its rotation. It sits wherever it stopped rotating the last time you turned off the car.

No, I'm afraid that when I repainted the needles I didnt stab the speedo needle in the right orientation.

All I really need is someone to post a pic of their 5-145 speedo so I can stab my speedo needle on in the right orientation.

Thank you compression! Mine was off by maybe 7 mph. You deserve a BIG cookie. :thumb:

I would never put larger diameter tires on a vehicle unless it was a truck or had an electronically calibrated speedometer.

What? It's mechanical. A magnet is spun by the drive cable inside an aluminum cup. The needle's connected to the cup. It drops to zero when the cable stops spinning.
It ain't a damned Chevy fuel gauge.

Kloop, call the local badges and ask them where they have a radar trailer set up. Use it to calibrate your speedometer.

You dont realize that on my car, which is a 90, the speedo doesnt have a 0MPH. It starts at 5.

No it's not that. I have stock OD tires. I was dumb enough not to look at where the speedo needle rests before I took it off when I was sanding off the orange crap on the back of the gauge faces. So I guesstimated where 0mph would be, causing my car to go 5 mph faster than i thought it was going.

I thought I worded my question well enough to make it seem like a simple request.
