I just went to a junk yard yesterday and found a tsi talon. not expecting it to be at this little junkyard. pulled the injectors and some other little things. i went back to my garage and put the tsi fornt wheel drive m/t (450cc) injectors on my n/t talon. i heard that if you put anything over 400 you need a fuel management and turbo fuel pump. i put them in my car and it fired right up idled a little high but ran very nice, all of a sudden the car idled like crap. i went to back it up and take it around the block, the garage smelled like raw gasoline, it was running so rich. i shut it off and pushed it into the garage. it was getting late so i went home. i was thinking if i put the intake came from a m/t turbo in that will give me more air and if i twist the cam sensor i can advance or retard the timing. will that fix the problem? Thanks in advance.

No, it wont fix the problem. Reinstall the stock injectors and drive it. The 450cc injectors aree making the car way too rich. You will need some sort of fuel management in order to get it to run close to good with that big of injector. May I ask why you think you need 450cc injectors with a n/t?

i read in one of the forums that 450cc injectors would amke a good upgrade. that or get the auto turbo injectors wich are 390cc. they work better with the n/t and you dont have to get a fuel management.
I wanted bigger injectors thinking it would be a quick easy way to add more power.

Any injector over stock size will need fuel management whether it be from a manual or automatic.

The turbo injectors will not increase power output untill you max out the stocker. With just bolt-ons, you will not need any larger injector on the n/t. Technically, the stock size injector should work fine untill you decide to do a turbo swap. You would benifit more by just installing an afc and wideband o2 sensor and tuning the car with stock injectors if you keep it n/t.

Bottomline is you need a SAFC whenever you change to larger fuel injectors. Your stock ECU wasn't even designed to take 390's or 450's. How are they a good upgrade when you are running N/A? They don't make a difference unless you have a lot more air pushed into your cylinders, in other wards, if you go forced induction in the future.

Remember, you don't make horsepower just by adding more fuel. You actually lose power if you add too much fuel. The rule is you need the proper amount of fuel to air mixture for proper combustion and power. If you upgrade your fuel, you have to upgrade your air consumption which is by adding an Intake, Cams, porting your head etc. However, these mods will never max out your stock fuel injectors.

I hope that explains things a little better. If you decide to keep your 450's get an SAFC. To be honest, it is a big waste of money unless you are going to turbocharge or add nitrious to your car. Than remember if you do that, you have to add a fuel pump, upgrade your clutch have money left for broken parts. The main point is, if you change one thing you have to change a dozen of things to make it work properly.

OK ,

First off:
your injectors are high impedance, the turbos have low impedance plus a esistor box..if you dont wire in that resisstor box(theres a how to on this site) you will fry the injectors or worse, your ecu.

secondly, you have a higher base fuel pressure, therefore your 450ccs are putting out even more fuel.

third.. since the cars in the junkyard,go ahead and grab the ecu,the resistor box,the turbo, the downpipe, the waterlines, the intercooler and piping, the oil lines..

thatll b a good start to turbo your nt.. just leave out the BCS and youll be fine on your stock compression, if your scared, pick up a 7 psi WGA off ebay for 30 bucks.

or see if you can get the whole front clip..

i was actually thinking about going back up today so i might grab all that or bye the whole car because it is really in half decent shape and the motor is still in it. it doesn't have the turbo but i can get one from a friend of mine. and you said i should leav out the BCS? what is the BCS? what is a WGA? i have heard many horror stories about turboing the N/T.
please give me more information on making it turbo. i have always wanted turbo but never had the money. i will take the other injectors out tonight and put the stock 240cc injectors in.
Thanks alot to everyone.

Just a thought but if you have the money to buy up the parts car, why not sell your N/T and use the money you have for the parts car to buy a turbo DSM? It will save you a lot of hassle, but that is just my opinion.

i went up today and the guy said that the whole car can't be bought but im going to to buy the motor and i bought the ecu today. im taking everything off that car. too bad it is only front wheel drive.
