All I did was take off my front bumper when I was positioning my tranny cooler. I found this plug:

....and of course I can't see anywhere it can plug into. Then I start up my car which was running just fine 5 minutes ago, and I start getting idle problems. It starts running fine, then 20 seconds later rpms rise to 1600, fall to 1100, rise to 1600, etc.

Like I said, all I did was work on my tranny cooler. Although I did pull one plug wire out to see what kind of socket I need for spark plug removal, then put it right back in the same spot with the arrow aligned properly. Any idea what that mystery plug is for and if that is causing my problems? I have no idea where is connects.

I'll make a movie of it and post to youtube as well or something.

Really? I didn't know there's a plug for that. I can't see where it goes either.

Nevermind the idle problems...I figured that out. Seems that any time I pull a spark plug wire or change plugs, my ecu readjusts itself or something. Because after running about 5 min, things go back to normal with 600 idle stable.

You can't see where it goes, because there is another part that is suppose to be mounted on one of the holes by the headlight. You will know what it is, it has this little pin/button like mechanism, when you close the hood it is pressed obviously.

Don't feel too bad, I never had mine, for some weird reason. So far 3/4 2G turbo Eclipses I've had didn't have it.

Yea you dont really think about it, until you go "hey whats this plug for".

Surprisingly, even with factory security, if the sensor is removed, it doesnt do anything. New aftermarket alarms sometimes come with one also. Some installers who try to get the most for your money charge extra for it. Horrible.
