srs need help

Ok my problem well my srs light comes on and stays on any way to reset srs computer I
un hooked the battery waited 5min still nothing the dealer wants 85 bucks to just to plug in can some one help

The SRS light will come up if any wires to any of the sensrs and airbags are missing. basically its a closed loop circuit and if a piece is broken, it triggers the light. This is the simplest way to explain it. Of course it could also be the SRS ecu. I believe it is located under the center console between driver and passenger seats.

Without fixing the problem, the light will not go out. It can be reset but you'll spend money only to have it come back. If you really want it to keep working, then go to the shop and have them scan and pinpoint the location of the problem. If you don't care, remove your instrument cluster and pull the LED out . Now, if you do, there is a chance that the airbags will NOT deploy if you get in an accident. That's what you have to decide.
